Sarah Breevoort
Dr. Breevoort is an associate professor of neurology from South Carolina. She is an endurance athlete and dedicated neuromuscular disease advocate who has completed multiple events, from 10Ks to 50K ultramarathons, has represented the United States in international triathlon competitions, and earned multiple USA Triathlon All American honors. She will be running in memory of her father and in honor of her mother. She also runs to honor her patients, many of whom were once great athletes before their neuromuscular disease diagnoses, and whose stories she carries with her for each run.

I am running and fundraising for this cause because I believe movement is a gift—and one that too many of my patients lose far too soon... Many were athletes themselves, and together we grieve the loss of strength and independence that neurologic disease can bring. Every time I run, I carry their stories with me.
